Nick Nicelys single Hilly Fields (1892) is widely accepted as a cult classic (it also inspired Andy Partridge to come up with XTCs psychedelic alter ego the Dukes of Stratosphear), but it remains unissued since its release more than twenty years ago. Tenth Planet is therefore proud to present Psychotropia, an entire album of Nick Nicelys late 70s/early 80s recordings that includes all four sides of his two singles (including the original, from-the-masters version of Hilly Fields) as well as a further nine previously unheard tracks that include his aborted third single, On The Coast, and another last-minute withdrawal, 6B Obergine, which was initially intended to be the B-side of Hilly Fields. A magnificent 47 minutes worth of psychedelic otherness imagine being trapped in a Victorian psychedelic timewarp - Psychotropia will be essential brainfood for anyone who agrees with the NMEs statement back in 1982 that Hilly Fields is the best psychedelic record made since the 60s. Just 1000 numbered copies on 190gm audiophile vinyl, Psychotropia comes in a fully illustrated sleeve designed by Bam Carusos Phil Smee, and includes the full story behind these astonishing recordings,
Psychotropia, available at a cost of £12.00 plus postage, may be ordered from Tenth Planet, 13 Barricane, St Johns, Woking, Surrey GU21 7RB, England. For more information, telephone 01483 727169, fax 01483 750874 or email
